Fire Safety Legislation in Scotland
The fire law for Scotland is now different from England and Wales and also Northern Ireland. UK benchmark standards still apply however and there is no change to the risk-based approach of previous legislation.

A fire risk assessment is a legal requirement and reviewing it regularly has been a mandatory requirement since 1st October 2006, when the Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations came into force to support the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. You should be aware that you must keep your fire risk assessment on your premises and make it available for inspection by the fire authority.
